Happy New Year! I apologize, I'm just getting back from my winter holiday so it's taking me a while to get all my posts in order.
I hope everyone is excited for 2014! This is going to be an awesome year! I plan to post regularly and bring more variety to Paperie Lane. It's going to be a busy year so follow me on twitter and instagram @PaperieLane to stay updated as I craft my way through 2014.
What are your new years resolutions?
Love on your birthday
Carbs Schmarbs
Carbs Schmarbs! It's time to celebrate! I was in New York this past weekend, where my good friend just got ENGAGED! He proposed over brunch and she said YES! Congratulations to J + T!
I forgot how much I missed New York. One of my most memorable summers was spent living in the city. Revisiting in autumn was like jumping into my favorite fall flick, You've Got Mail. I love passing the beautiful buildings, cute restaurants, and seeing the eclectic style of all the New Yorkers.
Who wants to bake some cake and watch You've Got Mail with me?
A Flower for your Birthday
I just got back from an awesome weekend of sun and relaxation at the SLS hotel in South Beach Miami. We spent most of our time lounging by the pool being treated like royalty. The pool service was amazing. Someone would always come by with a tray and offer us slices of freshly cut watermelon, popsicles, or my favorite...frozen grapes.
The food was delicious! I tried Cuban food for the first time and had delicious paella and gelato on Española Way. We also found a small shop, La Sandwicherie. They had the most amazing french vinaigrette. We loved it so much, we went back there three times!
I <3 Miami!
It's always hard to jump back into work after vacation. I was completely dead on Monday. It's now Thursday, and I am still feeling dead.
Hopefully the weekend will wake me up.
I love adding depth and texture to a simple card. The key ingredient... foam tape.
Since this was a fairly simply card, I wanted to give the petals some pop. I only used a single layer of foam tape, but I'll probably do a double layer next time, to make it stand out more.
Materials: blank white card, adhesive, foam adhesive Flower: Papertrey Ink Happy Hexagon Mini Stamp Set, Papertrey Ink Hexagon Die, die cutting tool (I have the Sizzix Big Shot) Ink (flower): Papertrey Ink Perfect Match Harvest Gold & Berry Sorbet Ink (Happy Birthday): Papertrey Ink Perfect Match Winter Wisteria & Perfect Match Enchanted Evening
